Prince Roy Cup VII is the seventh edition of the Prince Roy Cup, a friendly competition in the Sealand federation for teams that were not able to compete in the Sealand Cup. The tournament is held in (Dutch) season 71, returning after five seasons of absence. Title holders FC Biegstraaten entered in the Sealand Cup and did not participate.
Five-season absence
After the sixth edition, the Prince Roy Cup was not played for five seasons: at least four teams had to be eligible for participation, or the tournament would not be played. There were too few potential participants in season 66–70 for the Prince Roy Cup to be played, so the tournament was put on hiatus for a second time.
Season 66–70
Season 66
During season 66, only two teams were not able to compete in Sealand Cup XLVIII. The Prince Roy Cup did therefore not go ahead.

Season 67
In season 67, all entrants were able to compete in Sealand Cup XLIX. Without any potential participants, no Prince Roy Cup was planned.
Season 68
In season 68, only one team was not able to compete in Sealand Cup L. Without any potential opponents, no Prince Roy Cup was planned.

Season 69
During season 69, only two teams were not able to compete in Sealand Cup LI. The Prince Roy Cup did therefore not go ahead.

Season 70
During season 70, five teams were initially not able to compete in Sealand Cup LII. Due to a change of format, three of them could eventually enter the Sealand Cup in another way, leaving only two teams who were not able to compete. The Prince Roy Cup did therefore not go ahead.

Participating teams
Five teams were not able to compete in Sealand Cup LIII because they were still active in a cup competition. One of them (Fc Ajax Sneek 08) elected not to compete in the Prince Roy Cup. The remaining four teams all participated for the second time.

Seeding
The four participants played in a single group, so only the match order and home advantage for each match was drawn. The table below lists the participants based on their Sealand-Coefficient (which was determined by results in all previous Sealand Cups).

Group Stage
The Group Stage of the seventh Prince Roy Cup ran from 19 October to 9 November 2022.
Format
The four participating teams played each other in a single round-robin format, playing the other teams once (one match at home, one match away and one match at a neutral venue). Each team earned 3 points for a win in regular time, 2 points for a win after extra time or after a penalty shoot-out, 1 point for a loss after extra time or after a penalty shoot-out and 0 points for a loss in regular time.
Because FC Atse and Malus Alces were still active in a challenger cup at the time of the draw, the match between the other two teams was scheduled during the first week. As Angels United and Malus Alces were least likely to play a qualifier, they did not face each other in the second week.

Finals Stage
The next stage of the tournament was the Finals Stage. All teams qualified for this stage, with the match they qualified for depending on the position that they finished the group stage in.
Draw
The highest-ranked team would play the second-highest-ranked team in the final and the third- and fourth-highest ranked teams would play each other in the small final.
The matches were played at a neutral venue. Khalifa International Stadium, where the small final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the final of the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup was played, was selected as host of the final.
