Hattrick International Season 3, or Global Season 66, was the third season in which Red Star Tunis participated. They played in League V.112, and promoted after an unexpected qualification game.
Season Synopsis[edit]
Stadium[edit]
The Red Star Tunis stadium, the Stade Karl Marx, had its original capacity of 21.500 seats increased to 27.750 seats in the beginning of the season, and again to 36.000 seats in week 2. At the end of the season, the stadium was enlarged to 43.000 seats.
Season Summary[edit]
In the Hattrick International Cup, Red Star Tunis defeated Èeské Žilinský in the first round of the cup with a record 0-10 win, and also won the second game in the cup with 1-4 against RENZINHO. The team finally reached the fifth round, a record, where they lost 1-3 against FC Hünxe-Bruckhausen. Tunis then continued in the Ruby Cup for another two rounds, before losing against Maniacal Heathens Worldwide FC.
In the competition, the team started well, with five victories in the first five matches. The first defeat came on matchday 6, with a 2-1 loss on the field of Mysteeri. Following a draw and a subsequent loss against main contender for the title AFC Kratos '17, the team never again recovered, and remained on a second place in the competition. At the end of the competition, Tunis finished only two points separated from AFC Kratos '17, and was awarded an unexpected chance for promotion in a qualification game. In that match, they defeated Mad Hyenas from Sweden 0-1 away, and ensured promotion to 4th division.
