Hattrick International Season 9, or Global Season 72, was the ninth season in which Red Star Tunis participated. They played in League IV.29.
Season Synopsis
Shirts
Just like last season, Red Star Tunis used the fifth of a six-season series of special edition shirts that commemorate shirts worn by the favourite teams of manager Lunacharsky, each in a setting referring to a special period in those teams' history. In season 72, they used the shirts used by R. Antwerp FC in the season 2017-18, the year they played in first league again after years in the lower tiers of the Belgian competition.
Stadium
The Red Star Tunis stadium, the Stade Karl Marx, kept its original capacity of 65.000 seats, after an enlargement at the end of the previous season.
Season Summary
In the competition, Tunis started well, with five consecutive victories in the first matches, but lost their next two games. Finally, they closed the season with 9 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses, placing the team third in the competition.
In the Cup, the team set a new record by reaching the sixth round in the Hattrick International Cup, in which they lost 0-2 on the field of Casizolu from Italy. Tunis then continued in the Emerald Cup, in which they lost in the eight-round against French team Sonics International.
