Season Synopsis
Stadium
The Red Star Tunis stadium, the Stade Karl Marx, kept its original capacity of 43.000 seats; a it was enlarged just before the beginning of the season.
Shirts
Red Star Tunis started this season with the first of a six-season series of special edition shirts that commemorate shirts worn by the favourite teams of manager Lunacharsky, each in a setting referring to a special period in those teams' history. Teams that will be featured are Olympic Charleroi, AFC Wimbledon, FC Sankt Pauli, RWD Molenbeek, Antwerp FC and Liverpool FC. In season 66, they started with the Olympic Charleroi shirt that was used in season 2006-07, the year the team last promoted to the Belgium Second Division.
Season Summary
In the Hattrick International Cup, Red Star Tunis defeated FC Joris '14, a bot team, in the first round of the cup, and narrowly won against MDD International in the second round. They lost the penalty shootout against Phitsanulok TSY F.C. from Thailand. The team continued in the Sapphire Cup, where they lost in the third round against Canadian side FC Never III.
In the competition, the ambition was to remain in 4th division. The team started well, reaching the first position in the league after three initial wins, before falling back to the fifth position. The second half of the season started well, with victories against Lardlads and Eastern Thracians, Tunis again reached the third position. The team would fall back to fifth position after losing against Mosqueteiros de Maputo and Steelers Partschins FC, but finally finished fourth in the divions, thus ensuring remaining in fourth league.
