Winger is a position within hattrick. Their main function is to provide your team with decent side attacks, but they also contribute to midfield and defence as well. If you are looking for a wingers with high playmaking better choose high stamina, just like Inner Midfielders.

Individual Orders

Four individual orders that can be given to these players:

Winger normal (WN)	— must have good skills (playmaking, defending and wing). 85.4% of his Winger skill for Side Attack 21.0% of his Passing skill for Side Attack 10.4% of his Passing for Central Attack 20.1% of his Defending skill for Central Defence 34.9% of his Defending skill for Side Defence 45.5% of his Playmaking skill for Midfield

Winger towards middle	(WTM) — increases midfield contribution, but lowers the offensive contribution. 56.4% of his Winger for Side Attack 13.3% of his Passing for Side Attack 14.8% of his Passing for Central Attack 28.4% of his Defending for Side Defence 24.4% of his Defending for Central Defence 57.4% of his Playmaking for Midfield If you have winger with PM higher than wing, they are likely to always play this way.
Offensive winger (WO)	— increases the offensive contribution, but with reduced defense contribution. 100% of his Winger for Side Attack 24.6% of his Passing for Side Attack 13.5% of his Passing for Central Attack 18.0% of his Defending for Side Defence 8.5% of his Defending for Central Defence 38.1% of his Playmaking for midfield

Specialities

Wingers are an often overlooked position within hattrick, and have several uses. There is also a special event unique to wingers called a "Winger SE". You might want to look out for the quick or head specialties, although all specialities have some value. A ranking of specialities on forwards:

 Quick winger — Can create a frequent quick event, but loses defence a scoring in the rain and in the sun.

 Unpredictable winger — can create chance only with high passing.

 Head winger — improves chance of scoring on a set pieces.

 Technical winger — create chances if an opposing defender or inner midfielder is a head specialist (rare), gains PM in the sun, but loses PM in the rain.

 Powerful winger — improves defense and playmaking in the rain, but have negative stamina effects in the sun.

Training

Wingers can be trained through crossing or wing attacks training. They are the most complete players in a team. Good wingers require not only wing skill and good stamina, but playmaking and passing are also very useful, and defending helps too. Anyway wing skill is number 1, it's the reason why anyone buys a winger. Some may say that wingers are expensive, but they require a longer training to be perfectly created and have relatively lower wage as multi-skilled player.

High Playmaking Wingers

When it comes to a multi-skilled player like a winger, a strategic way to train winger is to buy a player already trained in PM. In doing this they play twice a week and get league (placed as inner midfielder) and cup experience (playing as winger). The experience can add up and does pay a dividend when selling a trainee.

Wingers for Defense Trainers

If the team is strictly a CA team that is unconcerned with midfield, then it is perhaps not money worth spending. However if it is a team that looks to compete in midfield and have at least two attack fronts, it is a way to get more from x-3-x or x-4-x with-one-winger formations.
