The Republic of Maldives (Dhivehi: ދިވެހިރާއްޖެ! Dhivehi Raajje) is a Middle East Asian league, the 124th nation to join the Hattrick World.
The Maldives is a chain of 26 atolls spanning roughly 298 square kilometres. It is one of the world's most geographically dispersed sovereign states as well as the smallest Asian country by land area and population, with around 515 696 inhabitants. Malé is the capital and the most populated city, traditionally called the "King's Island" for its central location.
History
- Maldives island are one of the two new countries created on June 2008 (it joined Hattrick together with Uganda, right before the beginning of global season 36).
- The country has been announced for global season 36 and creeated by its full name as Dhivehi Raajjeyge Jumhooriyyaa. Then it was called Dhivehi Raajje at the end of the first season.
- On the 11th of October 2009, the first division was renamed Dhivehi League too.
