Johannes Castiau (Ledeberg, Template:Flag/BELn) is a Belgian football player who actualy plays for SVV Red Star Gent. He is a goalkeeper.

Early career

Castiau started his football career in the streets of Ghent suburb Ledeberg, in Belgium. He showed enormous skills and reflexes as a goalkeeper, his friends used to make a game of it shooting balls in a rapid tempo, and Johannes kicked them all away. Bert Gilis, a local youth scout for Red Star Gent was asked to come take a look, and he was impressed by the game of the young keeper.

Johannes Castiau was asked to come to play at Red Star Gent. He eagerly agreed to this propsal, and moved to Red Star at November 30, 2009, by the end of season 40. Given his age, he is supposed to start playing at the first team by the start of Season 42.

Career at SVV Red Star Gent

Tom Gaal signed at SVV Red Star Gent on August 19th 2009, when the Belgian team agreed on a transfer sum of 25 000€ with PrimaDivisioneCatania. RSG was looking for a goalkeeper, since their first squad didn't contain one that was talented enough to perform on that level. Gaal immediately made it to the basic team as first goalkeeper.

Personal Life

Tom Gaal is known by his teammates as a friendly and spontaneous young guy, who quickly integrated in the group. He is good friends with his team mate Joël Crahay, and allegedly even dating Joëls' sister Lisa.
