Belgian Season 38, or Global Season 51, was the twelfth full season in which Red Star Brussels participated, and the tenth in which they participated as Red Star Brussels (before, they used to be known as Red Star Gent). They played in League V.231.

Season Synopsis[edit]

Name[edit]

The team continued with his name Red Star Brussels, or the official name SVV Red Star Brussels.

Stadium[edit]

The Red Star Brussels stadium, the Leon Trotski Stadium, had 53.000 seats at the beginning of the season, and was not enlarged.

Season Summary[edit]

The ambition of the team this season was to achieve at least a fourth position in the League, and attain the fifth round in the Belgian Cup. The Cup objective failed after a difficult game loss against FC JUVENTUS SCHOONAARDE in the fourth round. The objective in the League was surpassed largely, with a second place reached from Matchday 12, and a final third position on the very last matchday. The team was as such sure of a continued stay in Fifth Division.

The Passing training of the past two seasons was discontinued from Matchday 4 on, and as planned changed to Playmaking. During midseason, Set Pieces was trained.

The season was most remembered for the retirement of Leonardo Rubén Tasca, who still holds the record of the most goals in one season by Red Star (18 goals in Season 42, after becoming topscorer one last time. He was replaced by the new attacker David De Loose.

Second Team Creation[edit]

Following the decision by Hattrick to allow Platinum Members to create a second team in Hattrick, Red Star Brussels went Platinum the very same day. We greeted this occasion wholeheartedly, and asked for a Second Team in Suriname, Paramaribo. The team's name would be Rode Ster Paramaribo, and is scheduled to start operations at the beginning of Global Season 52.
