On 24 May 2020, Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track played fc de zotten as a qualifier at the end of season 74. Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track had finished fifth in V.128, while fc de zotten had been crowned champions of VI.660. Former Trinidad & Tobago international Andre Nunes became the hero for the home team, scoring a hattrick as part of a convincing 7-0 victory. After the match, both Nunes and experienced forward Nikolay Zhivotnev said goodbye to the club, choosing to continue their careers elsewhere.

Match report

38755 spectators arrived at The Railroads, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Hector Kaendler was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jago Detrait and Joan Sebastián Martínez.

Back-on-Track's lineup was: Seblani - Nunes, Bande - Ylikylä, Van Lede, Pitzalis, Van Keymeulen, Malkusz - Zhivotnev, Paşcan, Kazishvili. zotten's starters: Sicuro - Bin Khalifa Al-Mansouri, Stotz, Orge, Wind, Mityukov - Alves, Maggiore, Bari - Byttebier, Reguero.

Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas fc de zotten lined up in a 5-3-2 formation. Back-on-Track mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+1) level with that tactic. zotten took a titanic creative approach on the field.

First half

After 3 minutes, the home side was awarded a penalty. The visitors protested wildly but the referee was adamant. Andre Nunes easily put the ball away to give the lead to Back-on-Track. 1 - 0 With 9 minutes played, Back-on-Track's Janick Van Lede almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. George-Daniel Paşcan squirmed through their central defence after 10 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. zotten's Immo Stotz startled Antonio Javier Reguero with an unexpected pass. Unfortunately, the receiver was too stunned by the play to convert the perfect setup into a goal. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Back-on-Track's Andre Nunes increasing the lead to 3 - 0. 27 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Jari Ylikylä broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Back-on-Track. The referee showed zotten's Immo Stotz the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Back-on-Track, with 73 percent of the ball.

Second half

46 minutes into the game, zotten wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Ghanim Bin Khalifa Al-Mansouri gave Roman Wdowicz a quick hug as he left the field. After 58 minutes, Back-on-Track's Andre Nunes found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 5 - 0. That made three goals for Andre Nunes and he was marked down for the hat trick. Back-on-Track's Jari Ylikylä had an excellent opportunity after 70 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! Immo Stotz remonstrated furiously with the referee after zotten had another decision go against them. The referee had no alternative but to show him another yellow card and send him from the pitch. Cheers filled the stadium as George-Daniel Paşcan broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 6 - 0 to Back-on-Track. zotten's Karl Wind got himself booked for a foul. Back-on-Track solidified their lead at the 77 minute mark, as Janick Van Lede dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 7 - 0. Nikolay Zhivotnev would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Daniel Jahnick entered the game for Back-on-Track as the match clock showed 80 minutes. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 3 minutes as stoppage time. zotten breathed new life into the game with an attempt to reduce the lead after 90 minutes, but the home side's defenders cleared the ball off the line, after a long shot coming in from the left rebounded off the crossbar.

Post match

The match ends 7 - 0. Back-on-Track claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent. Most important Back-on-Track player was George-Daniel Paşcan. On the other hand, Rachid Seblani's play was disheartening. Xesús Orge performed admirably for zotten. Roman Wdowicz turned in a dismal performance, however.
