Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico in local language) is a North American country. It was the 144th nation to join the Hattrick World. The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (also known as Boriken or Borinquen in Taino language) is an organized territory of the United States with over 3 million inhabitants located in an archipelago in the northeast Caribbean Sea. The capital and most populous city is San Juan. The political status of the territory has consistently been a matter of significant debate because Puerto Ricans have been citizens of the United States since 1917, but they cannot vote for congress.

Territories of the United States differ from the states in that they are classified by incorporation and are not sovereign entities. They are not considered to be integral parts of the USA, but are sub-national administrative divisions overseen by the government. U.S. territories have recognized local or indigenous languages in addition to English.

History

• Puerto Rican league has existed since September 2020. It was one of the five new leagues created before global season 76.
