United Arab Emirates (الإمارات العربية المتحدة, al-ʾImārāt al-ʿArabīyyah al-Muttaḥidah in Arabic) is a Near East Asian country. It was the 72nd nation to join the Hattrick World.
The federation of United Arab Emirates (UAE), sometimes simply called al-ʾImārāt (the Emirates), was established on 2 December 1971 when they got independence from British Protectorate (the former Trucial States). Abu Dhabi serves as the federal capital. The UAE is home to over 200 nationalities: Emiratis constitute only 1.5 milion people (roughly 12% of the total population), making UAE home to one of the world's highest percentage of immigrants (60% South Asian, 10% Egyptian, 6% Filipino, 5% "Westerners", and 7% Others).
History
- Emirati league exists since March 2004. It is one of the eight new leagues for global season 27.
- The 7 regions correspond to the seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain.
- League was expanded to 4 divisions at the beginning of local season 14. Then it was expanded again to 5 levels at the beginning of local season 24.
- UAE has not hosted any World Cup yet.
