Youth Player

Lison was recruited by Red Star Brussels at 16 years old, and evolved in their youth club Rode Sterretjes Brussels. His potential as a quick striker became immediately clear, even if he wasn't destined to become a long-term player for the team.

Ruud Lison was promoted to the first team during season 66, and became part of the attackers training plan.

Career at SVV Red Star Brussels

Ruud Lison was initially recruited to the team as a trainee that would be sold later. This changed however when Red Star Brussels decided to become a home-grown team. Future striker prospect Will de Schietere was too old for this, and his future first-team place was given to Lison and Frederick Eeckman: Ruud Lison would now become a key player in the future of the team, a first-team attacker.
