History

Lidwinia as an island was ruled by the Tiilargan dynasty until 12 Before Zom-Tás, when the Novotopians seized power. Lidwinia became a crown colony of Novotopia, but resistance came to being when the Novotopians appeared to have a cruel way of ruling the island, with huge iron stocks north of Vulj-Glačo and when a plain peasant with extraordinary football talents, Noljym Traistams was brutally murdered by the troops of the Novotopian regent Sybrand Grinwis I, native Lidwinians gathered near the Passo Crombach in central Lidwinia and discussed the matters. Zom-Tás xom čal Nuram rised up and took the lead over the Lidwinian liberation army. After a bloody war that lasted 4 years, the nation was liberated and Zom-Tás was hailed as King Zom-Tás the Great (Also known as Jan-Kees van der Molen).

In 32 After Zom-Tás, the Novotopians attacked again. They quickly seized Vulj-Glačo after murdering about 40% of it's resillient population in an uneven battle. Sources speak of catapults and heavy infantry against peasants and lightly armed Archers, led by a man named Marc Orbons, about whom there is no more information found. Calixtlahuaca was no match either, while 2109 Llama Riders managed to uphold the Vast Novotopian troops for 23 days near the Passo Crombach, before the army camp was bruned to the ground and all inhabitants were killed.

Meanwhile, the Novotopian fleet conquered Jergild, and reached the docks of the city Totopolis. The Totopolitans called for aid from the Archers from Xročetoxtos, the Ivory City that was under siege as well. However, Xročetoxtos managed to send the Elite Archers Brigade led by Verek ča Ottiloja. This brigade managed to defeat the Novotopian forces at Totopolis though most, including their leader, perished. The Novotopian fleet was destroyed by a kammikaze action by the Lidwinian fleet, led by Admiral Zunol Glannal. Survivors of this clash flocked to Lidwinia and found the island village of Nuzomes on the Vólial Islands at the coast of North-East Lidwinia.

The Novotopian sieging army conquered Xročetoxtos and crushed the last Totopolitan defenses easily, before moving North to the capital: Sejea de Lidwinia. The march was stopped by the last remnants of Lidwinian forces. At the great Battle at the Lidwinaveldje. 270 000 Novotopians faced 37 403 Lidwinians, led by Zilleóm Galtwuij and Aččea Somčals. The Archer brigade of the Lidwinians managed to hold the storming troops for several minutes, but the lines were broken and the city of Sejea de Lidwinia was lost.

What happened after this day is not clear, since the National Archive at the Monte Tiwone complex was destroyed. A document about Aččea Somčals is found however, in which he is mentioned as the caretaker of Sybrand Grinwis III son of the Novotopian king. Aččea Somčals probably kidnapped the heir to the Novotopian thrown and tought the savage Lidwinian manners. In his cave at the Monte Tiwone complex, he is supposed to be joined by youngsters from all over Lidwinia: Kostor Gujjalhad, Muar Kemtarnom, Dálj-Zom Tulsjam and Comear xom Guajbaroal, led by a mysterious ranger called Zumojom Dlá or something. When Aččea Somčals was murdered by the Novotopian king, his son took up the sword for Lidwinia and under his reign, the youngsters managed to recapture the Island.

Structure of the State

Lidwinia is known to the outside world as a Kingdom, with the royal seat in the Southern city of Xročetoxtos. The actual power of the country is in hands of the High Council holding the King, the High Priest of Monte Tiwone and the Field Marshall of the Lidwinian forces. The capital of the country is the marble city of Sejea de Lidwinia where the High Council has it's meetings occasionally.

Though the High Council has the formal power in the country, much is left to the city governments. Especially Calixtlahuaca is known for it's city government. City governments include the army training and equipment as well as economic and social policy. In addition, it's the city's responsibility to take care for the Isis-shrines within their walls. Vulj-Glačo has a big Christian community and has facilitated some Christ-shrines for that cause, though the central government strongly disagreed.

Lidwinian Districts

The Lidwinian state is divided in Regions, with each a capital: The Moors of the Great Mountain is the largest region of Lidwinia. Jergild is the capital of the Nothernmost region, which also includes the two great lakes of Lidwinia and the Monte Tiwone. The Ashlands of the Bitter West, with capital Vulj-Glačo is the South-West also includes the Xirtóm mountain as well as the Inexorable Valley. Xročetoxtos is the capital of the The Lands of the Ivory Tower, which also includes Calixtlahuaca. The Eastern coast has it's own region, called The Coasts of the Red Ocean, including capital Totopolis and the Vólial Islands. Sejea de Lidwinia is incorporated in The Region of Marble Reflection. Circle of Men is it's capital.
