Pedro Zurita (born 3 November 1997[1]) is an Argentinian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Argentinian club Larbatata. He is famous for being the most prolific player in the history of Hattrick: the all-time Top Scorer. He has been the first to beat the marks of 400, 500, 600, 700, 900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1600 and 1700 goals. He also holds the record for being the most experienced player in the game (divine +58).
He made his senior debut during Season 18. One year later, he would play in the Argentina U20 for the first time. And at the age of 20 he made his debut in the National Team. He has over 200 caps and has scored 128 goals for Argentina, making him their top scorer of all time. He has represented his country at the España 23, Brasil 25, China 27, Deutschland 29, Rossiya 31, Portugal 33, België 35, Andorra 57 and Al Maghrib 85 World Cups, and the România 20 U-20 World Cup.
In 2008, after reaching 500 goals and 50 hattricks, the HTs granted him the "Apache" nickname. Pedro has been top scorer of his series 37 times (two of those in Primera División). Currently, being a veteran, Zurita plays in the lower divisions of the Argentinian League.
In 2018, 10 years after reaching 500 goals, Pedro reaches 1,000 goals, quite crazy for him and his fans.
Born in Provincia de Buenos Aires, Pedro became interested in football as a child, he would never miss a match of Allsvenskan legendary team Gäddträsket, and he always claimed that his first idol in football was Jan Alexandersson (654). Pedro's talent was noticed by his first team, Los Bepis(6231), at a very young age. He had impressed the scouts and joined the club's youth system immediately. He played in the youth teams until he signed a professional contract with the first team upon turning 17. Los Bepis promoted Zurita on a Friday night, 77 years and 60 days ago (Hattrick time). It was the first week of Season 18. Young Apache was solid at scoring skill but weak at passing. After a week of intensive training, his coach (and team owner) Tesone(58093), noted that Pedro's scoring skill had improved to excellent.
Club Career
Los Bepis (S.18 - S.33)
Zurita scored a goal on his very first match. It was an easy opponent on the early stages of the Copa Argentina: (4784245). And on that same season he scored his first Hattrick on an official League Match against giants Boca Juniors[2]: (4520945)
It took only one season for us to see his debut on the Argentina U20 NT. Pedro was only 18, but had powerful friends![3]
On this match you can see Pedro wear the white and light blue stripes for the first time: (6986570). And his first goal: (7050393)
Zurita was becoming famous in the community and had friends everywhere. In a time when adding a nickname to a player was something almost impossible, Pedro got one for just one match: (7256652). By that time, only GM's or HT's could grant a nickname to a player. Tesone's twin brother was a GM: GM-Melli (wink). After such event many complained on why Pedro could have a nickname and so many others couldn't. The nick did not see the light of Sunday; it was immediately removed after the Hellas match. But something had changed in him. A new identity was growing inside Zurita.
Pedro would grow older and his skills improved every Friday. It didn't take long until the National Team coach, Grimgroth (4855221), noticed his talent. On January 2004, with only 20 years, Zurita made his debut with the NT: (13783178). A couple of weeks later, Česká republika would suffer Pedro's first goal: (13906579).
Scoring the opener in the big final, Pedro became Champion of the Copa Argetina with Los Bepis (Season 24): (31352126)
Apache was at the peak of his career. He was fast, strong and always scoring goals. He couldn't do better. On Friday 11/3/2005 Zurita reached scoring skill Divine. He was the second[4] Argentinian field player to reach such level.
Immediately after noticing this, Tesone started a big thread on the Argentinian Forums: (2726305.1). The thread became super popular and the first official request (of many more to come) for the return of the "Apache" nickname took place. Regional GM-Gaita was not so optimistic:
(2726305.25): GM-Gaita » (2726305.24): Tesone
11-03-2005
For him to have a nickname, is not within the possibilities. Unles he does like the Norgue guy who scored 3 in the WC final and got a nickname, I don't think that's possible. That's a shame. It would have been nice, the nickname looked good, it inspired him ;)

2005 was another record-breaker year for Zurita. During season 26 he became top-scorer of the Primera División and the Copa Argentina. This had never happened before in Argentina. But, it was during Season 27 that Pedro would receive his first and only red card: (54746023) One year later (April 2006), being quite young for such achievement, Pedro became Argentina's all-time top scorer. It was his goal #292 and he reached the mark of José Ramón Herrero, Boca Juniors's legendary striker. Once again, Pedro was messing with the old HT-Dinosaur. That very same month, Zurita reached 100 caps for the National Team.
The media was crazy about Zurita those days and in July 2006 a famous -and extremely bizzarre- flash interview took place. Watch it under your own risk: (link). At the same time, and after his success with the team and the goalscorer, Tesone was also interviewed (link) by former user checo. Pedro's season was sensational, and for the second time in his career he had became the top goalscorer of the Primera División and the Copa Argentina in the same season (S29).
It is now October and the Argentinian Community finds out that Zurita is very close to beating the record: (7164389.1). Apache is only 2 goals away from Oceanian striker Cody Edgar (3845162). Right after this, a series of important events take place one after the other:
The day after such thread is created, Pedro makes it beating the Oceanian's record: (7164389.64)
But Cody also scores and is N1 again: (7164389.93)
A couple of weeks later, Pedro scores a Hattrick and takes the throne. He will be sitting there for 4 years and 7 months: (7164389.108)
On that same month, Pedro Zurita reaches the incredible mark of 400 goals. It is now the Global Community that salutes Pedro: (7734784.1).
2007 begins with HT-Tjecken commenting on the nickname issue (7831771.21). Former user agustin90 writes a few words about the superhero: (9121179.1). After becoming Hattricks all-time top scorer, Tesone claims for what he deserves (yes, the nickname again!): (9023376.1). This time, GM-Gaita is more optimistic:
(9023376.133): GM-Gaita » (9023376.1): Tesone
29-05-2007
Now that he is the world's top scorer, there should be no trouble in having the nickname approved, since he now has something unique. What you should do is make them notice that, the fact that he is the player with the most goals.

A funny thing happens during July. Pedro's birthday does not take place at the beginning of the Season (as usual) but on day 43°. This means that in Season 33, Pedro had a year of 154 days![5]
But October will come with really sad news for everyone. Pedro's salary is too high for Los Bepis finances. Tesone has to sell. In tears, he writes to the Argentinians: (9875427.173). After 16 seasons, Pedro and Tesone shake hands. Big hug. A new contract is to be signed with the brave team that is willing to pay Pedro's salaries every week: Furano(331268).
Furano (S.33 - S.36)
Many were afraid that a foreing team might buy Pedro just to fire him the next day. It had happened before with other big stars of the Game. Due to this, the NT coach, Peluza(1191014) handed Pedro a callup. Just a formality to keep Pedro "alive". Finally, Tesone and -Julian-(822520) shook hands. The amount could have been bigger ($ 2.941.000). After this, Pedro was released from the NT.
For the first time in his career Pedro, at the age of 32, would wear a club jersey other than Los Bepis'.
Furano was a rich team back then. His manager, -Julian-, said he could afford Zurita's salary easily.
The new debate in the forums was about Apache's wage. Was it too much? (10201177.1)
In December, that same year, Pedro suffered one of the worst injuries he would ever had. It was a cold rainy night. Wednesday. Cup Match. Defeat: (155879335). The recovery took less than expected. Pedro is anything but normal. One month later he was healed and playing: (153442871). Celebrations in the National Conference: (10512444.1)
It's World Cup time. First Round. Argentina was strugling to qualify for Round Two. Pedro saves the day: (155448665). Right after this big match, there are new claims for the nickname but all topics are closed after several arguments with Chilean users.
It was in March, that same year, that Zurita reaches the mark of 500 goals and 50 hattricks. Both world records by that time.
As expected, the nickname is the main topic again. This time, a global thread (10867996.1) and, at national level, a new signature collect took place.
It seemed to be that the only Argentinian user bored of the game (even having Pedro Zurita in his lines!) was -Julian-. In June 2008 Furano put Apache for sale.
aguante misiones (S.36)
The new owner was also an Argentinian team: aguante misiones(445923). No one knew much about these rich investors. The club owner, jlgjlg(1796460), never gave any statement.
It was a big sum of money ($ 17.500.000) that, eventually, the GMs adjusted to $ 3.000.000. -Julian- was pissed off and so were many other users that complained about this.
In the meantime, a new petition for the Apache nickname is presented in Global Conference: (11510060.1) Pedro did never play a match for his new club. aguante misiones was reported cheater and the NTAs put Zurita on the market.
Again, a big fuss is created around Pedro. Who would buy him now and how much are they going to pay? (11542700.1)
Hristo Stoichkov Team (S.36)
On July 2008, Bulgarian side Hristo Stoichkov Team(660446) buys Pedro Zurita. Pedro would play abroad at club level for the first time in his life. He is now 35 years old.
August 20: At last, the nickname is officially added to Pedro's name. It is announced in National Confference by GM-Koldo (11748426.1) and in Global (11748821.1) Two days later, Hristo Stoichkov Team is left without an owner. Pedro's life is in danger: (11748426.134)
Immediately after this, simontxo (NT coach) makes the call. Pedro is in the NT, he is safe. The NTAs, again, put Zurita for sale.
Argentinian club Larbatata buys Pedro "Apache" Zurita for an enormous amount of money: $ 26.775.000.
Larbatata (S.36 - S.93)
35 year old Pedro arrives to the humble team Larbatata. Now a veteran of the game, Zurita has mythical scoring and magical set pieces. He claims that is more than enough for him. Coach Sp0kie(492884) bases his entire team strategy on making Apache an even more prosperous goal scorer. First, he buys an entire new team of oldies that would only provide assists to Pedro. And together with that, the new formation of Larbatata is 4-5-1 with Zurita as lone forward and set pieces taker. Along with the goals, many skill drops will affect Apache. It is in december 2008 that scoring goes down to extra-terrestrial; in march 2009 to supernatural and by the end of that year his scoring skills are solid. On 9th December of 2008, Pedro woke up "different" On December 2008, a group of Pedro Zurita's fans create the Federación PAZ(79641).
By May 2009, Pedro is close to his 600 goal and a new competitor in the goal race takes place. It's Sergiy 'Chubagol' Chubenko(21194777). A friendly "challenge" match is set and the result is super boring: With Zurita placed as a goalkeeper by mistake, Chubagol does not score and Larbatata wins 3-2: (222023493).
Chubenko is younger, has higher scoring skills and his team is stronger than Larbatata. But on 14/06/2009 Zurita scores a Hattrick and becomes the first ever player to reach the 600 goals mark: (233059434)
Former user ezecai90 writes an HT Press article about Pedro: (5195)
2010 is a funny year for Apache. In April his TSI hits 0 (zero) and in September his scoring skill is non-existent.
And rigth after this, in October, Pedro scores his 700 goal. Again, he is the first to ever reach such mark: (297130634)
Sp0kie opens a new thread in Global forum:

Hello all!
Just came here to bring the news: Pedro "Apache" Zurita (6993859) has reached the all-time record of 700 goals scored (actually, 701).
It happened yesterday in this league match (297130634).
Things have been complicated for Pedro. All his skills are non-existent (if that's the proper term), except for set pieces (8).
He's now relegated to a much humble team that fights in the lowest divisions of the -always competitive- Argentinian League.
Cup matches are no longer a reason to celebrate, as the very first match has been, for some years now, against a really hard opponent.
His salary has decreased along the seasons, his condition reflects that the age will always have a tough influence on footballers.
The fans hardly remember the old guy, and the songs they wrote about the legend of his goals are almost forgotten now.
He ocassionaly is asked for interviews on local sports magazines, but the cameras don't flash after him any more.
Pedro has become 42 a few weeks ago. His performance on the field has decreased terribly.
But the goals are still there. The attitude remains the same. He still grabs the ball on the field and faces the utopic rival defender whit the same spirit that he had in the early years.
The experience has grant him the magic, the cleverness, the wisdom.
His scoring skill is non-existent but the goals still come. It sounds quite incoherent. But it's Pedro.
Apache is a legend and he still shows it on the field. The crowd asks for goals and there they have they hero.
Back in Argentinian Conferences came the idea of giving Apache some kind of award.
The guys thougt of adding a unique specialty (remember that when Pedro was born, back in 2002, there were no specialities): "Mystical".
This word preety much describes him as he frequently pulls goals out of nothing. When the team has lost posession or the rival defense is highly solid, then Pedro comes up with one of his miracles and saves the day.
Well, then, the idea was to add this unique speciality. In spanish it would be "Especialidad: Místico".
Please, be welcome to comment on anything related to Apache's career or achievements.
Thanks for your time and sorry for my English!!!
Nacho

Right after this, before the year ends, Argentinian NT Coach, LA-Magician(352538), organizes a match of "Old NT Glories": (309131336). Pedro is the main attraction but he doesn't score.
It is at the begining of 2011, and after 4 and a half years, that Pedro "Apache" Zurita is no longer the World Top Scorer. Chubenko scores a brace and takes the lead: (310216317)
One month later Zurita scores a Hattrick (716 goals total) and leads again: (312892109)
17/04/2011: The Ukranian legend scores three to be king again: (325864327)
22/05/2011: But the old man shows he can still fight and, once again, is number one: (328646442)
13/07/2011: Finally, after an amazing rally, Chubenko scores 4 and sits in the big chair. He will be there for 3 years, 2 months and 4 days, until retirement.
By that time, Pedro is aware that he has to train hard and prepare his mind for a long battle to come. The fine art of scoring goals is better executed by the patient, and Apache knows that.
In October, on Pedro's 45 birthday, a new HT Press article is released where user algocreativo(8096478) interviewes Tesone, Zurita's first owner: (13752) One year later, in April, Sp0kie informs the fans that Pedro is now non-existent in all his skills. Sad news for everyone. And a couple of months later, the sad news come across the sea: Chubenko (804 goals and still record-holder) is injuried and will have to retire. It was an easy match for Peace Death were Chubagol scored twice: (388015085). All Argentinians grab their calculators. Pedro is close. 31 goals.
2013 begins in the worst possible way. A minor injury in this game (421347630) sends Zurita to the Hospital. Many fear the worst. Even doctors tell Sp0kie that Apache will never play again. In the meantime, while still in recovery, Pedro starts a course to become Coach. Sp0kie wants the best for his Hero and makes him an Excellent coach. The cheapest Excellent coach in Hattrick History.
Cheapest Excellent ever!
Suddenly, and under very strange circumstances, the doctors call Sp0kie to immediatly meet them at the Clinic. A late test on Zurita shows that the injury is no longer there. Pedro is passed fit and ready to play again. On 17-02-2013 Pedro becomes an Excellent healthy coach.
The media want to hear about the miracle man and many press releases are written after the Legend:
27/07/2013: User leonrojo15(3915475) writes a book about Pedro: Part 1 (17240) and Part 2 (17335) 30/10/2013: leonrojo15 also arranges an interview with Zurita's coach Sp0kie: (17427).
It's August 2014 now. First, the Copa Esmeralda Pedro 'Apache' Zurita(518) is created in Argentina. And a few days later, Apache scores his 800 goal (497028317). Only 4 to reach the mark of Chubenko. And by September 2014 Pedro is King again. With a brace, he reaches 805 goals and leads the boards (497416464).
A fan managed to record the event: YouTube Link Celebrations take place in Argentina (16659304.202) and in Global Forum (16660094.87). Also, international reporter Rhouveant(1758169) flies to Argentina to meet and interview Sp0kie: (18272) The year 2015 is very quiet in Pedro's career. It is in 2016 that, still far form Chubagol's 118 Hattricks record, Apache scores his #100: (566537578)
A few days after reaching the mark of 100 hattricks, the Legend is called by the NT Coach for a friendly match against Ireland. That would be Pedro's 200° match with Argentina NT (569449587).
Being a record holder, Zurita's stats are always under constant review. A couple of months later, a group of specialists agreed on the fact that the official numbers of matches played for the National Team are wrong. On the player's page it is displayed one less cap than what manual counting shows. A bug is reported and one week after that, the Football Association admits and corrects the error.
Link to forum post where GM-Pale informs the situation: (16858326.794).
But Zurita has more to show during 2016; in Octorber, during an easy league match, Apache scores 4 and reaches the mark of 900 goals (594409480). And just a month later, a new world record is to be set by Pedro: Larbatata smashes their opponents 10-0, Zurita does not score. But still, the experience gained during such mach changes his personal stats to "Experience: Divine (+46)". After a very long tie with Trinidad & Tobago's legendary forward Amar 'Nooruk' Atwal(90550531), he beats the record to be number one on his own.
