Cambodia (កម្ពុជា, Kampuchea in local language, Cambodge in French) is a Far Eastern Asian country. It was the 118th nation to join the Hattrick World.

The kingdom of Cambodia (Khmer: Prateh Kampuchea) has a population of over 15 million. The capital and largest city is Phnom Penh.
802 AD marked the beginning of the Khmer Empire The complex of Angkor Vat ("City/Capital of Temples"), the largest religious monument in the world, was built during the 600 years of the empire. In 1863, Cambodia became a protectorate of France, and later was incorporated into French Indochina. It gained independence in 1953. Then the Khmer Rouge took power and carried out the Cambodian genocide from 1975 until 1979.

History

• Cambodian league has existed since July 2007. It is one of the four new leagues for global season 33.
• The country was called with the full of Prateh Kampuchea until the beginning of global season 6.
• The top division was renamed Cambodian Premier League before global season 10.
• Cambodia has not hosted any World Cup yet.
