Scotland is a nation within the the Western Europe Region. Following real life football, Scotland competes as an independant nation in Hattrick with its own league, cups and national teams.
History and Background
HT-Scotland was established in May 2001 at the beginning of The Swedes season 13. Over time, there was 5 series levels setup using the hattrick pyramid structure with the highest level named the Scottish Premier League;
- Scottish Premier League (8 teams)
- Series 2 (32 teams, 4 leagues)
- Series 3 (128 teams, 16 leagues)
- Series 4 (512 teams, 64 leagues)
- Series 5 (2048 teams, 256 leagues, vast majority bots)
9 regions were established, in line with the traditional regional councils; Not surprisingly Strathclyde and Lothian have been the 2 regions with the most teams over the years. Highlands and Islands increased dramatically though with the introduction of 2nd teams.
- Borders
- Central
- Dumfries and Galloway
- Fife
- Grampian
- Highlands and Islands
- Lothian
- Strathclyde
- Tayside
While it is a small nation in Hattrick terms, Scotland still competes internationally, with greater effectivness than in real life and often punching above its weight even reaching the World Cup Final on one occasion under Bogglers management.
Scotland has its own players database which was developed by Seannation. It can be viewed here [1]. There is also a mentoring program to try keeping new managers interested in the game and also to strengthen the nation, allowing it to gain an even stronger national side.
There is a very lively, light hearted forum within the country which attracts many local and international visitors. Scotland is is also a very social nation, holding frequent meetings around the country, with all managers welcome.
Allegations have persisted for a number of years that a powerful cartel of managers run the Scottish game.

National Teams
In World Cup VI the Scottish national team, under the management of Boggler, made a massive impact, against all the odds getting to the final, where they were unfortunatly defeated by Sverige. This achievement is well celebrated in Scotland and is also the source of much friendly banter with "The Swedes" as some HT Scotland managers have suggested higher powers were at work in the Swedish victory.
Other notable achievements included reaching the quarter finals of World Cup XII under the management of fuzzyspud and also the Last 16 at World Cup XXIV under the management of DogNatural. Dogs achievement ended a long spell were the country did not get past Round 1.
Scotland has its own players database which was developed by seannation. It can be viewed here [3]
