The Thirteenth World Cup tournament took place from 10 July 2009 to 6 September 2009.

124 national teams (no new entrants) played a total of 840 matches in the 16 groups of qualification in order to define the 32 participants to the final stage held in Greece. The host nation was not among them, despite NT Greece was a finalist in previous world cup.

Event of note was the battle for second place in Group 2 of Round IV and the advancement to the semi-finals: as Ireland rivaled England by points, goal difference, goals scored and even the game between the teams ended in a draw, the balance was broken in favor of England, causing a vibrant protest from Irish users for the evident lack of transparency on the criteria of the draw. The reason why England continued at Ireland's expense was they had a higher rank in the previous group, as explained the following season, and precisely in the NT Rules. Because of this incident, an explanation was added on the fact that the classification of the group is determined not only by points, goal difference, goals scored and finally, but also by rank in last WC (for qualification) and in any case by the classification of the group previously concluded (round I, II or III).

Once again the four semi-finalist team were all from Europe: Germany, England, Spain and Denmark fought for the World Cup victory. Germany won the tournament, claiming their first title. They defeated Denmark 3-1. A little consolation for the Danes, in addition to the silver medal, was the title of top scorer won by player Tonny Stadsholt with 8 goals.
