Senior National Team

Benin began international play in qualifying for World Cup XI. The team has never advanced out of qualification; their best finish is 7th in their group in qualification for World Cup XII and World Cup XIII.
U-20 National Team
Main article: Benin U-20 national team
Benin began international play during the final rounds of U-20 World Cup X. The team's first official competition was in qualifying for U-20 World Cup XI. Despite their young age and small user base, Benin scored a shocking upset in advancing to Round II of U-20 World Cup XII under the management of Cortomaltese, in only their second entry into the competition. Cortomaltese is attempting to repeat the feat in U-20 World Cup XIII.
