Sealand Cup XIV was the fourteenth edition of the Sealand Cup, the friendly competition of the Sealand federation and was held in (Dutch) season 32 (returning after being not played during season 31). The final was held at Sealandisch Boorplatform on 24 November 2010, where SC RedHead defeated Sherlock's Boys 4–3. Defending champions Rubinho19 did not compete in the tournament.

Note 2: Pranks United participated for the first time, but manager Dennis86 had participated one time in the past with I.F.C. Pranks United (reaching the quarterfinals during the seventh edition).

Seeding

The draw for the group stage was held in Heeze on 11 October 2010.

Teams were seeded into four pots based on their Sealand-Coefficient. The Sealand-Coefficient was determined by league level, league strength, points achieved in league play, number of Stars in league matches and number of Hatstats in league matches. Teams from the same region could not be drawn against each other.

Fixtures

The standard fixtures of each group were:

  • Group Round 1: Pot I Team vs. Pot III Team / Pot II Team vs. Pot IV Team
  • Group Round 2: Pot II Team vs. Pot III Team / Pot IV Team vs. Pot I Team
  • Group Round 3: Pot I Team vs. Pot II Team / Pot III Team vs. Pot IV Team

Group Round 2 and 3 would be reversed in the group with R.C. Vozzko, to ensure all final group matches were played in the Netherlands.

Group Stage

The Group Stage of the fourteenth Sealand Cup ran from 20 October to 3 November 2010.

Format

The teams in each group played each other in a single round-robin format, playing the other teams in the group once (at home or away). Each team earned 3 points for a win in regular time, 2 points for a win after golden goal or after a penalty shoot-out, 1 point for a loss after golden goal or after a penalty shoot-out and 0 points for a loss in regular time. For goal difference purposes, winning a penalty shoot-out was rewarded with one extra goal (equal to scoring a golden goal). This point system is similar to the system used by the (real-life) IIHF for international ice hockey matches.

The top-two teams of each group advanced to the quarterfinals. If two or more teams were level on points, the head-to-head result was the main tie-breaking criterium.

Knockout Stage

The next stage of the tournament was the Knockout Stage. Eight teams qualified for this stage (the group winners and runners-up from all groups).

Draw

The teams were seeded first to eighth, based on their result in the group stage (group winners were seeded 1–4 and runners-up were seeded 5–8). In the quarterfinals, the highest-seeded teams would face the lowest-seeded teams at home. In the semi-finals, the winners of the matches involving the first and fourth seed would play in the first match, while the winners of the matches involving the second and the third seed would play in the other match. The semi-finals and finals were played at a neutral venue. Sealandisch Boorplatform, the home stadium of Sealandisch Nationaal Elftal, was selected as host of the final.
