On 11 November 2018, FC de netezonen played Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track as a qualifier at the end of season 69. FC de netezonen had finished sixth in V.247, while Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track had been crowned champions of VI.87. Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track went into the match as Unofficial Clubteams World Champions, turning this into a UCWC title match. By winning the match, FC de netezonen became the new UCWC champion.

Match report

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 24983 at Echo stadion today. Jordi Estalella was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Fred Schlattmann and Kaspar Kivimäe.

netezonen fielded: Gorni - Heuveling, Ramos Vela, Uran, Zabiygola, Maśniak - Cherim, Biffiger, Fuentes - Guberina, Malashevich. The following players had been chosen by Back-on-Track: Ballout - Rebelo, Bergamaschi - Al-Sadah, Van Keymeulen, De Muynck, Van Lede, Bilon - Paşcan, Otchigin, Zhivotnev.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team FC de netezonen went for 5-3-2 while Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for netezonen on this day, taking advantage of their world class (13) level with that tactic.

First half

26 minutes into the game, Back-on-Track's Janick Van Lede took a seemingly painful knock to his chest. However, he gritted his teeth and decided to play on. 30 minutes into the game, Vasil' Malashevich finished off a netezonen left wing counterattack, making the score 1 - 0. After 37 minutes, Back-on-Track's Guido De Muynck swiftly ran past Branislav Uran and nutmegged the keeper! 1 - 1. netezonen had a good opportunity to take the lead as Michał Maśniak came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of Dory Ballout. Back-on-Track had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 39 minutes in when George-Daniel Paşcan came up alone against Giancarlo Gorni who managed a block. With 40 minutes played, Branislav Uran of netezonen fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 42 minutes into the game, Qutugh Otchigin had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. Milivoj Guberina knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 2 - 1 after 43 minutes. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Back-on-Track claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 64 percent.

Second half

The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Helmut Van Keymeulen from Back-on-Track a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 54 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! netezonen played a good counterattacking move down the left 61 minutes into the match, with Eduardo Alaín Fuentes finishing well for 3 - 1. netezonen's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 64 minutes gone, but Milivoj Guberina's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. 67 minutes in, netezonen's Emmanuel Biffiger received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After 68 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and Milivoj Guberina gave the netezonen supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 1. Back-on-Track's Qutugh Otchigin placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but Nikolay Zhivotnev couldn't finish. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact.

Post match

The match ends 4 - 1. Back-on-Track enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession. Most important netezonen player was Milivoj Guberina. On the other hand, Emmanuel Biffiger's play was disheartening. Back-on-Track's best player was Guido De Muynck. However, Kornelius Bilon made a disastrous appearance.
