The National team Belarus (initially created as NT Byelarus) represents Belarus in international friendlies and the World Cup.

Belarus began international play during the final rounds of the fifth edition of World Cup, but the first official competition was only in qualifying for WC 6.

In the early days, Belarus had steadily improved their results, constantly advancing out of qualification between WC 12 and WC 14, and again between WC 16 and WC 18. The team's best result was just in WC 18, where they bowed out in Round IV.
