Cameroon (Cameroun in French) is an African country. It was the 126th nation to join the Hattrick World.
The Republic of Cameroon is home to over 250 native languages spoken by nearly 20 million people. Its capital is Yaoundé and its largest city is Douala. Portuguese explorers reached the coast in the 15th century and named the area Rio dos Camarões (Shrimp River). A colony it was created by Germany in 1884 as Kamerun. After World War I, the territory was divided between France and the United Kingdom. In 1960, the French-administered part became independent and the southern part of British Cameroons federated with it in 1961. A war fought between French and Cameroonian forces until early 1971 unified the country.
History
- Cameroonian league has existed since March 2011. It joined Hattrick right before the beginning of global season 45, along with Cuba, Uzbekistan and Palestine.
- Cameroon hosted World Cup XXXI. NT failed to qualify for the event.
