Tunisia (تونس‎, Tounis in Arab) is an African country. It was the 70th nation to join the Hattrick World.

Republic of Tunisia has 11.7 million inhabitants and covers 163 610 km2 (63 170 sq mi).
Country name is derived from its capital and largest city, Tunis known in ancient times as Carthage. The city, founded by Phoenician immigrants, it was the center of the most important commercial empire of the time, until it was destroyed by the Romans in 146 BC. Muslims conquered the whole territory by 697 and introduced Islam. French colonization occurred in 1881 and lasted until independence, declared in 1957.

History

• Tunisian League has existed since February 2004. It was one of the eight new leagues for global season 22.
• The league's initial 3 divisions were filled at in local season 11 and was therefore extended to 4 levels before the beginning of local season 12. Then it expanded further to 5 levels quickly, but after that the league started to lose user and became suddenly almost empty.
• The country hosted World Cup XX, but NT failed to qualify for the event.
