Uzbekistan (O'zbekiston in Uzbek) is a Middle East Asian country. It was the 125th nation to join the Hattrick World.
Republic of Uzbekistan, estimated population 34 million, comprises 12 provinces (vilayats) and one autonomous republic, Karakalpakstan. The capital and largest city is Tashkent. In ancient times the territory was part of the Persia, until the Muslim conquest in the seventh century. During this period, cities such as Samarkand and Bukhara began to grow rich from the Silk Road. It was gradually incorporated into the Russian Empire during the 19th century, with Tashkent becoming the political center. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, it declared independence as the Republic of Uzbekistan on 31 August 1991.
History
- Uzbekistani league has existed since March 2011. It joined Hattrick right before the beginning of global season 45, together with Cuba, Cameroon and Palestine.
- Uzbekistan has not hosted any World Cup yet.
