The rating of a player will reflect his performance accordingly. For example, adding a Quick player on rain without changing anything else, can decrease your winning chances by 1.5% more or less, based on the skills of the player. Since the weather event will affect his skills, then the success rate for Quick events will be lower too.

Special events (SE) are additional uncommon match events connected to weather, to a single player specialty or to other characteristics of the whole team.

If you dominate the midfield you have a slightly higher chance to activate a special event than your opponent.

A good option for the SE optimized teams is to play creatively. This tactic increases the odds of special events happening.

Taxonomy

They are of two main types: "weather" and "goal" special events.

  • A weather SE may affect (both positively or negatively) an individual player's performance for the rest of the game.
  • A goal SE (by the team or by a single player) creates an extra scoring opportunity.

In-match process

How the match engine generates a special event (in the new SE system):

  1. At the beginning of the math, decide if there is any weather SE at all and choose the player or players affected,
  2. Decide if there is any goal SE at all,
  3. Choose a goal SE type between individual or team events,
  4. Choose the special event within the chosen type,
  5. Choose the team that will get the SE, based on a check to find specialists for this specific event in each team,
  6. If requested in SE routine, is performed a goal check (Scoring of involved player versus Goalkeeping of opposite Goalkeeper).

The global probability for a new SE is reduced after each SE, 6 being the maximum, modified by +1 for each team "playing creatively".

Weather special events

      Further information: Skill

Certain specialties may be better suited to certain weather condition. If a weather special event happens, a player is affected for the rest of the game, as weather is static for the whole match.

All skills are affected, including Goalkeeping, so Goalkeepers are significantly influenced by weather events too.

  • Sunshine: loses 5% on all skills during the whole match.
 Quick player and weather
  • Sunshine: loses 5% on skills during the whole match.
  • Rain: loses 5% on all skills during the whole match.

Support player give a rating's boost but this is not a special event and is it not connected to weather. It was confirmed that this boost is one of the only two SEs a goalkeeper can achieve.

The rating of a player will reflect his performance accordingly. For example, adding a Quick player on rain without changing anything else, can decrease your winning chances by 1.5% more or less, based on the skills of the player. Since the weather event will affect his skills, then the success rate for Quick events will be lower too.

Goal special events

      Further information: Specialty

In a match, you and your opponent can have goal special events happen apart from regular chances (which are decided by the clash between attacks against defences).

One single goal SE can happen more than once in the game. However, with every next occurrence, the chance will be lower.

The probability of event's creation is nearly the same for all Specialties. For example, here is a Unpredictable and Quick events frequency comparison (over 1 milion matches sample - HT official data):

  • 2 Unpredictable players in both teams can create 0.100 events in average, and 2 Quick players can create 0.105 in average
  • 4 Unpredictable can create 0.290 events, and 4 Quicks 0.290
  • 5 Unpredictable can create 0.350 events, and 5 Quicks 0.353

Every SE has the same probabilities to happen in each slot (central attack/defence or side attack/defence).

Anyway, 6 unpredictable can create 0.42 SE on average, a number similar to 6 quick players. But if you choose 3 unpredictable and 3 fast, you can have 0.47 SE on average. So choosing just one specialty is not the only option. There is no "best" option to tell you the truth.

As you can guess, any event related to the whole team (one of Corner, Experienced Forward or Inexperienced Defender) belongs to the category of Team Goal SE and any event related to a single player (or two players) belongs to Individual Goal SE. If the event is a Team Goal SE, the team with the higher midfield has more chances to get it. For the Individual Goal events, midfield rating doesn’t matter, but the number of your players with specialties does.

  • Quick Defenders (negative): Defender help stopping opposing Quick score event from Wingers, Forward or Inner Midfielder. If the exact opposite player is also quick, then he has 100% chance to stop the attack. Otherwise, nearby quick players have a much smaller chance to stop it instead.
