The next stage of the tournament was the Knockout Stage. Sixteen teams qualified for this stage (the group winners and runners-up from all seven groups, accompanied by the two best third-placed teams). Teams tied on points would be ranked by the results between the top-three teams only.

The teams were seeded first to sixteenth, based on their result in the group stage (only results between the top-three teams were taken into account when teams were tied on points). In the second round, the highest-seeded teams would face the lowest-seeded teams at home. The teams were re-seeded for the subsequent rounds, meaning that the bracket was not fixed and the highest-seeds would face the remaining lowest-seeded teams in the quarter-finals and semi-finals. One exception was made for teams that qualified from the same group: these teams could not meet each other in the second round.
The quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals were played at a neutral venue. ''Maracanã'', where also the final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup was played, was selected as host of the final.

* An additional draw was held at June 25 to determine the opponents of FC Atse, Rode Ster Dordrecht, SC RedHead and 1Utreg1. According to the fixtures, FC Atse had to play Dispar Vulgo FC and SC RedHead had to play Limburgia FC, but they could not meet again (as both teams qualified from Group Azul resp. Group Vermelho) so the draw would decide which team would switch places with D.W.I.W. and play Rode Ster Dordrecht instead. The draw between Limburgia FC and Dispar Vulgo FC determined that Dispar Vulgo FC had to play Rode Ster Dordrecht and thus D.W.I.W. would play FC Atse. As a result, Limburgia FC would play against 1Utreg1 instead and HetBeste would face SC RedHead.

Sealand Cup XXVI was the twenty-sixth edition of the Sealand Cup, the friendly competition of the Sealand federation and was held in (Dutch) season 44. The final was held at Maracanã on 24 July 2014, where 1Utreg1 defeated Dispar Vulgo FC 1–0 after extra time. Title holders Real Lutjegast was not able to defend their title, as they were still active in the national cup.

Participating teams

28 teams participated in Sealand Cup XXV, including four previous champions. Three teams made their début. Two extra clubs participated to make up the field.

Seeding

The draw for the group stage was held in Heeze on 4 June 2014.

Teams were seeded into four pots based on their Sealand-Coefficient. The Sealand-Coefficient was determined by league level, league results, Hatstats and results in the previous three Sealand Cups. Teams from the same region could not be drawn against each other.

Group Stage

The Group Stage of the twenty-sixth Sealand Cup ran from 11 to 25 June 2014.

Format

The teams in each group played each other in a single round-robin format, playing the other teams in the group once (at home or away). Each team earned 3 points for a win in regular time, 2 points for a win after extra time or after a penalty shoot-out, 1 point for a loss after extra time or after a penalty shoot-out and 0 points for a loss in regular time. For goal difference purposes, matches decided after extra time or after a penalty shoot-out were treated as if the match had been decided after a golden goal (regardless of the actual number of goals scored). This point system is similar to the system used by the (real-life) IIHF for international ice hockey matches. The order of play in each group was decided by draw.

The top-two teams of each group and the two best third-placed teams advanced to the second round (round of sixteen). If two or more teams were level on points, the head-to-head result was the main tie-breaking criterium.

  • An additional draw was held at June 25 to determine the opponents of FC Atse, Rode Ster Dordrecht, SC RedHead and 1Utreg1. According to the fixtures, FC Atse had to play Dispar Vulgo FC and SC RedHead had to play Limburgia FC, but they could not meet again (as both teams qualified from Group Azul resp. Group Vermelho) so the draw would decide which team would switch places with D.W.I.W. and play Rode Ster Dordrecht instead. The draw between Limburgia FC and Dispar Vulgo FC determined that Dispar Vulgo FC had to play Rode Ster Dordrecht and thus D.W.I.W. would play FC Atse. As a result, Limburgia FC would play against 1Utreg1 instead and HetBeste would face SC RedHead.
