José Alejandro Montes de Oca (Valencia, España) is a Spanish football coach and former player, and the actual trainer of SVV Red Star Brussels. During his playing career, he was a Central Defender.
Early career
José Alejandro Montes de Oca was recruited by his local team in Valencia, Libertaad!! F.C.. He stayed at the team for a whole season, but would only play one game. José Alejandro finally demanded to be transferred to a team that would give him more playing opportunities.
Lindes FC
Montes de Oca soon joined Norwegian side Ulv!. However, when he revealed to the team management he was gay, the team told him there would be no place for him in the team. Dissapointed, Montes de Oca went on to search for another team that would accept him, arriving as such at Lindes FC in Sweden.
At Lindes FC, José Alejandro Montes de Oca became a crucial part of the defense of the team, playing a total of 116 matches during 10 seasons! His most problematic season was Season 36, when he suffered from a bad injury at his knee, that kept him off the pitch for more then a season.
Career at SVV Red Star Brussels
SVV Red Star Brussels recruited Montes de Oca because they wanted to reinforce their defense, and because they counted on him as a future coach. It was agreed that Montes de Oca would replace current coach Ulrik Falkenner after his retirement, and this happened during Season 45.
