Next Friday will be the last before the U-20 World Cup begins. That means that next Friday is the last chance to qualify for it by gaining ranking points. The best 40 (out of a total of 56 nations) teams are qualified, the best 8 of which will go directly to the group play, skipping the first two cup rounds.

The qualifications are over and the U-20 World Cup enters next phase. 16 teams have lined up for the first Play-Off and the draw placed old rivals and neighbours USA and Mexico once more in the same group, along with Netherlands and Finland. Group 1 will also be a tough one with Scandinavian rivals Norge and Sweden, accompanied by Canada and Belgium. Host Oceania will be playing Denmark, Portugal and Germany. The final group is made up of England, Romania, Spain and Turkey.

Today is the big day when the U20 World Cup final takes place. This year, Sweden will play England, having beaten Denmark and the US respectively in the semifinals. Kick off is 20:00 HT-Time as usual.

Yet another World Cup title to the Swedes, as they defeated England in the U20 World Cup final yesterday. Congrats to them and to the Swedish coach Pucko. However, our respect goes to England for a well performed competition, and a well deserve silver medal. Also, of course, congrats to the US and Denmark for grabbing the bronze medals.
