Democratic Republic of the Congo (République démocratique du Congo in French) is an African country. It was the 134th nation to join the Hattrick World.

Congo is a Democratic Republic with a population of over 84 million, also known as DR Congo, DRC and Zaire (obsolete). Another name of the country is Congo-Kinshasa the capital and largest city.
Congo achieved independence from Belgium on 30 June 1960 under the name Republic of the Congo. After 11 years of conflicts, a dictatorship took control of the country and renamed it Zaire until 1997. Congo is extremely rich in natural resources but has suffered from political instability.

History

• Congolese league has existed since November 2019. It was one of the two new leagues created before global season 73.
• DR Congo has not hosted any World Cup yet.
