Hong Kong (香港 Hong Kong in Chinese) is a Far East Asian country. It was the 51st nation to join the Hattrick World.

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China is a metropolitan area with over 7.5 million people. The territory has become one of the world's most significant financial centres and commercial port and the Hong Kong dollar is the eighth most traded currency in the world.
China ceded Hong Kong Island in 1860, and Britain obtained a 99-year lease of the New Territories in 1898. The whole territory was transferred back to China in 1997.

History

• Hong Kong's league has existed since September 2002. It was created along with Chinese Taipei and other four countries in global season 17.
• Teams that have requested so, were moved from the Hong Kong region of China to Hong Kong new league.

We have now begun moving the teams that have so requested from the Hong Kong region of China to Hong Kong. You can still request this, but the deadline is noon 12:00 HT-Time (European time). The reason why we must be strict with this is because otherwise will both the China cup and the Hong Kong Cup, which both starts on Wednesday, be messed up and no-one wants that to happen! :)

• Hong Kong was extended to maximum six divisions. It happened before the beginning of local season 17.
• After a poll, user decided to change regions name in March 2007.
