  • South Korean league was created in May 2001 (global season 13).
  • The league has seen a steady, if somewhat slow, growth in the number of team during the first 30 local seasons. South Korea was extended to 6 divisions at the beginning of local season 24, but then the league was reduced to 5 at the end of local season 39.
  • South Korea hosted first World Cup together with Japan).
