Trophies

Nippon's National Team has qualified for the World Cup main phase twice so far. The first time was back during World Cup V. Nippon outsmarted France, Indonesia and Uruguay in the qualification group games and made it to the last 32. Here Nippon finished third in front of Austria, but behind Indonesia and Italy which qualified for round III. The success was repeated 10 seasons later during World Cup X when Nippon managed to beat Portugal and Suomi amongst few others in the qualification group. In round II the team once again finished third behind Portugal and Colombia, but ahead of Venezuela.

U-20 team managed to get to the second round of the World Cup only once. In the qualifications of U-20 World Cup IX the team succeeded in finishing at 2nd spot behind Danmark and ahead of Sverige and Chile. In the last 32 stage Nippon's U-20 was able to beat Nederland, but suffered losses from England and Slovenija and got eliminated eventually.
