Italy (Italia in local language) is a Latin European country. It was the 4th nation to join the Hattrick World.

Geography.png Rome is the capital and largest city of Italian Republic, the third-most populous member state of the European Union with around 60 million inhabitants.
Due to its central geographic location in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean, Italy has historically been home to myriad peoples and cultures, beginning from colonies in the classical era. In the 8th century BC, an Italic tribe known as the Latins formed the first nucleus of what it is destined to become the Roman Empire, the leading cultural, political and religious centre of the Mediterranean.
During the Early Middle Ages, central Italy was under the direct sovereign rule of the pope and the Catholic Church. After centuries of foreign domination and political division, Italy was unified in 1861 under the Kingdom of Italy, then established as a democratic Republic after World War II.

History

As part of Hattrick's initial expansion, even if younger than Sweden, the country uses the global season count (along with only Germany, England, France, Finland, Denmark, Argentina, Mexico and USA).
  • Like all new leagues, the league started with 168 teams, then:
in 2001: 4? divisions,
in 2003: 7? divisions,
in 2005: 9 divisions with ~33 000 active users,
in 2007: 10 divisions with ~70 000 active users,
in 2009: 11 divisions with ~85 000 active users,
in 2011: 10 divisions with ~77 000 active users,
in 2014: 9 divisions with ~50 000 active users,
in 2017: 8 divisions with ~35 000 active users,
in 2020: 8 divisions with ~25 000 active users.
U-20 World Cup VI: in that edition Italian NT U-20 qualified for the event, but was eliminated in Round III.
U-20 World Cup XX: Italia became world champion.

Notable Teams
Fladderkatten
The oldest Italian user still active. He/She won the Cup in season 14 and the league in season 18.
Kender's F.C.
The first (and only) Italian team to win 2 Serie A titles playing in two different regions.
Plastic Red
His owner, Sluice, was the first Italian GM and also the first national team coach of Italy. He won the league in seasons 15 and 23, and the cup three times in a row from season 18 to season 20.
A.S. Roma Calcio
The first team to win three league trophies in a row. The same result was later achieved by Arezzo Galasocaray.
Arezzo Galasocaray
The most successful Italian team at the time: 6 league titles and 2 Cups. Best team result is semi-final of Hattrick Masters III. Manager Marrundo was ruler in early days, along with his cousin Stefano of Arezzo, both coach of the Italian national teams.
Dunf United
Galasocaray ruled his times, but not in season 27, when Dunf wins the national title and becomes the first Italian team to take part in Hattrick Masters (along with K-Team). His owner Dunfermine was a Mod and LA, but was banned from game for a joke in the forum while he was the National Team Coach of World Cup VIII campaign.
Sgainator F.C.
Winner of two cups, the second 10 seasons after the first one (seasons 21 and 31). At that time, all titles had been won by teams from Serie A, II or III division, but Sgainator won his second cup even playing in the V division.
Taj Mahal
Won the cup in season 30 and the league in season 32 and 34. Even before his victories, manager Giutrader was well known after importing the principles of daytrading at high levels. On international stages, the team fought until the last minute of Hattrick Masters IV final, but it was only runner-up in that edition.
SQUARTA PRAGA
First team to attending four Hattrick Masters editions in a row by winning 4 different titles: 2 cups in season 34 and 35 and then 2 Serie A titles in season 36 and 37. After taking victory in a third national cup in season 49, the club achieved the highest number of victories in Coppa Italia and the record of the longest period between two victories (14 seasons!).
Mare Salato
His owner, Cortomaltese, was the first Italian manager to win a medal as NT coach of a foreign country: bronze medal with France in U-20 World Cup XIV. Due to lack of results with his club, he was mocked for years, until suddenly he became champion in the national cup 77, 14 years after he joined the game.
Mokimbo
Manager Mokiforever was the first to achieve trophies with the National Team. Under his guidance the U-20 NT won the bronze in U-20 World Cup XI and the world title in U-20 World Cup XII.
Saints Regia
The team won two national cups in a row (seasons 32 and 33) and reached the highest number of achievements points in Italy, globally placing at third place in 2012. His manager regia5 was the first Italian to win a NT World Title with a foreign country with Norway. After turning into a globetrotter, managing dozens of NT and U-20 around the world, he occasionally come back as NT coach for Italy (in 2019 for example, when U-20 Italy a silver medal in World Cup XXIX). His resume also includes 2 silver medals with both Netherlands NT and U-20.
Orda Balorda Urbino
It was the first Italian team to win the Masters in season 42. The club won Serie A in seasons 41, 42, 44, 45, 47. They hold the record in national cup finals played with 7 (4 in a row), but with only 3 victories. When the team eventually won their first cup, they also brought a top division team to victory 11 seasons after a Serie A team's last victory by Arezzo Galasocaray.
"Orda" manager zagortenay guided NT Italy to the first medal after 10 years of trying: they placed third in World Cup XVIII.
excoto
First to win Serie A 4 times in a row (seasons 48, 49, 50, 51).
Real Palaron
The club won Serie A once and cup twice, but the most important achievement for coach Marteam2004 was he guided NT Italy to their second bronze medal, placing third in World Cup XXIII.
Altrafazione
The team was called "Oppostafazione" when they won two consecutive cups (50, 51) and one Master! Then they were forced to change the name, but, many years later, they came back as Serie A champions (74, 75).
I Vermotti
Record of 9 victories in Serie A, 4 times in a row (seasons 61-64). With 21 consecutive seasons in top division (294 matches and 530 points from 28 December 2013 to 16 May 2020) the team held an incredible record: 2 331 days, or 6 years, 4 months, 18 days, in Serie A.
UnicoGrandeAmore
In the game since 2004, manager ziubelu spent many years in the rear before breaking through. Thanks to a huge money hording process related to a lucky future coach selling price trend, UnicoGrandeAmore quicly became Serie A champion and they also brought back the masters to Italy (season 77).

Footnotes

  1. ^  Manager Vecchioleone was forced for political reasons to changed team's name from Oppostafazione to Altrafazione after season 51, just following Hattrick Masters victory.
  2. ^  Season is not displayed due to a system crash. League table of season 12 had to be reconstructed.
  3. ^  There's no winner for cup in season 12 because the final matches have never been played due to a system crash. The semifinals, played a week before, had led to victory of two bot teams: Venezia with 0:1 away and 1:0 at home against Sardinia, and Milano with 6:0 at home and 0:2 away against Campania.
