Belgian Season 30, or Global Season 43, is the fourth full season in which Red Star Brussels participated, and the second in which they participated as Red Star Brussels (before, they used to be known as Red Star Gent). After promoting from League VII.578 in Season 42, RSB started to play in League VI.449.

Name

The team continued with his name Red Star Brussels, or the official name SVV Red Star Brussels.

Stadium

The Red Star Brussels stadium, the Leon Trotski Stadium, has 20 000 places.

Overview of the Season

For the second time in its existance, Red Star Brussels participated in the Belgian Cup. In het first round, they faced Antwerp side in memoriam. RSB won the away game 1 - 2, and qualified for the second round of the Cup. Adalbert Eiserling left the team.


In the first competition match on Matchday 1, RSB defeated FC Timbré 2-5, taking a second place in the competition right away.


During the second cup match, Red Star Brussels was defeated 0-5 by Shaggy2, thus ending their cup run. The team defeated black tornado 8-1 at home during Matchday 2, and stayed in the second position of the classment. David Colmenero Martínez left the team.


On Matchday 3, RSB defeated bad kompany, one of the rivals for the title 1-2, continuing its perfect run in this competition.


The match against CLUB44 on Matchday 4, was another struggle for the title. RSB won 5-3 after a difficult game, and continued to stay unbeaten at the top (2nd) of the competition. The gap with first follower CLUB44 increased to 6 points. Norbert Kaźmierski and Stan Strugaru were recruited, and Fryderyk Młynarczak left the team.


Red Star Brussels claimed the first place with a 1-6 win against AC Mirtan on Matchday 5. tubeke lost 1-0 on the field of CLUB44. Stan Strugaru left RSB again, and Joel Laevers joined the team.


Matchday 6 showed another victory for Red Star Brussels: 0-4 on the field of sk123. RSB remained on the first position in the classment, 3 points in advance on tubeke, and 9 points with CLUB44, bad kompany and FC Timbré. Lennart van de Peppel and Norbert Kaźmierski left the team, Meir Sharabi was recruited.


A draw marked the first leg of the battle against competitor for the title tubeke on the 7th Matchday: 3-3. As such, Red Star Brussels kept its lead with 3 points in advance. José Alejandro Montes de Oca and Taieb Boulbeba joined the team.
