The seventh staging of the cup marks the retirement of Magneto from the leadership of the community. The cup is now conducted by Frunza, the last season top dog. He brought a more strict approach to the cup and many innovations. One of them is the addition of a new team coefficient system, a procedure that places the participating teams into the proper pot at the draw based on the past seasons performance. Hence, the rank system was abolished. Two more contests will take place in the same time with the cup: the fourth edition of the betting contest Prono Cupa Brăilei and a brand new original quiz about the history, the geography and the culture of the Brăila region. Season 7 is the last edition held in the present format. The 64 teams were divided into sixteen teams of four, with two teams advancing from each group. More than 15 people were present at the draw, which took place on 29 December 2010. The prize pool for this season remained high: 930 days of Hattrick Supporter feature, rewarding the teams who reach the Round of 16 phase or above. All the sixty-four places in the cup were filled in no more than 19 hours from the opening, setting a new record. Day 1 will start on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. The final is scheduled for March 9.

A new feature was approved by the board during this season, a greater penalty for teams that don't arrange their matches. If before, teams that didn't arrange their matches were penalised with a 5-0 loss, now they will be penalised with a 10-0 loss and a 3 point deduction in the group ranking. Furthermore, a banning system was set in place as it follows: the teams that make one mistake are penalised as written before, after a second mistake the teams are banned for one edition, after three mistakes the ban is for life. If three editions pass since the last mistake, all are erased. Teams that are still playing in the Romanian Cup, are penalised like before, with a 5-0 loss. Teams that send the challenge but are not accepted by the rival team win as before, 5-0 (of course only if they post the challenge on the forum), and the team that didn't accept, loses 0-10.
